Welcome to IMC Engineering!
Thank you for allowing us a few minutes of your valuable time to introduce our company.
Over a period of forty years we have gained a reputation with our customers of service excellence and the supply of quality products. In 2013 we became ISO 9001: 2008 certified.
Through the use of Auto, CNC and second operation machines, and utilising strategic alliances and top class sub-suppliers, we have expanded our product range to include a wide variety of components and fasteners used in almost all facets of “light” manufacturing and engineering industries. This includes mining, automotive, furniture, switchgear, welding and many others.
We have a strong and diversified customer base of about 150 customers spread around South Africa, mostly situated in Gauteng. Increasingly, we are gaining more and more international customers too. We have a reliable and strong supplier base which has been built up on a foundation of doing business with honesty and integrity and a willingness to deal with customers more as partners than as third parties.
For all the product ranges listed throughout this website, we can offer you a reliable, quality driven and competitive service. You can always find cheaper products, however for reliability, consistency and excellent service we open our company to you.
In addition to the above and to enhance our service to our customers, we also offer outsourcing of plating, hardening and grinding of manufactured components.

A Case for the local manufacturer
Do you know that you can save costs by buying local?
It’s a well-known fact that profit comes from either one of two places - increased revenues or decreased expenses. Successful companies always look to increase margins by containing costs. But where else can you look to improve margins and profits?
• You could reduce the impact on your costs of a fluctuating exchange rate?
• You could reduce the cash flow required to pay up-front to import products from overseas?
• You could purchase only the quantities you need when you need them, saving money tied up in stock and the space needed to store it?
• You could be sure of the quality of the product you were purchasing reducing the cost of after sales service?
“Purchasing locally manufactured products from our non-ferrous foundry is the answer to these questions and will ultimately improve your bottomline.”
Eliminate the cost of exchange rate fluctuations
Rapid fluctuations in exchange rates negatively impact on profits. The increasingly uncertain global financial markets place your profits at risk if your costs are dependent on the exchange rate.
Reduce the cost of rejects and product failures
A poor quality imported product will cost you money to replace, but will cost you more money if you measure the time it takes your staff to handle product replacements and the cost of a lost customer. Buying a quality local product gives you peace of mind and improved bottom line. Buying cheap is ultimately expensive.
Cash flow is a cost
One of the biggest expenses of importing products is the cash outlay required. Imports tie up large amounts of cash in that you have to pay up-front for the goods, have to purchase large amounts at one time and have to carry more stock due to long lead times to get replacement stock from overseas. Buying local means you can get credit terms and pay for the goods after you’ve sold them. You can buy in smaller quantities and hold less stock as you can quickly get stock when you need it. Profits appear on paper but you feel cash flow in your pocket. Buying local will put more cash in your pocket.
Invest in your future profits
Your long term profits are dependent on a growing South African economy. Buying local puts more people in jobs which will ensure that there are more people to buy your product and make you money.
